What drives this FND advocate❓

A firm belief that individuals don't need to struggle in silence with unexplained, undiagnosed functional symptoms, like I did. Symptoms which may include migraine headaches, irritable bowels, gait disorders, and/or terrifying seizures. Every BODY, is unique in how it experiences Functional Neurologic Disorder.

What was wrong with me, I'd wondered.

After seven years of medical investigation I learned I had something called Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND) in February 2021. But, what the heck was FND and would I survive it ❓

What I had believed on Day 1, post diagnosis, was that a spark of Hope had been planted. I wanted to be well. Three years later, I'm not cured, although I am joyful healthy, and living virtually symptom free. That's enough.

Wednesday, August 22nd, I watched on #MSNBC as #MichelleObama spoke at the #DNC and urged Americans to:

This Canadian's passion to raise awareness about #FND & #MentalHealth advocacy was re-ignited. I will do somet

What can one person do❓ So much, I've realized❗️

  • I choose to make a difference in my community, my country, and online, as a global citizen.

  • I choose a growth mindset, and to use my strengths and skills to make a difference.

  • I choose to show up for myself with courage and to share my story with conviction knowing I have the support of my faith, my family, my community and my values.

  • I choose to advocate for others, in addition to myself, knowing we're all worthy.

  • I choose to eliminate stigma and mindfully choose my words and actions at home, at work, in my community, country and how I show up online.

Information and knowledge ought to be accessible to EVERYONE❗️

Let's do more.

I'd written the manuscript and secured an agent.

Traditional publishing houses loved the book, but weren't confident there was a market.

Did I give up? No!

I became a published Indie author when my publisher: Jeff Ourvan, believed there was.

Was there a market? Of course... there's an increrasing prevalence of individuals being diagnosed with functional symptoms.

Would anyone want to read my book? Maybe.

Would it sell? I hoped.

There would be no take backs. Of that, I was certain.

Was it scary? Absolutely.

Was it worth the risk? I hope and prayed that the answer would be yes.

If only one copy sold, if it sparked hope for even one, the risk would be my reward.

Was it? yes.

AND even MORE...
